Threatening yet fascinating Serpentine series by Mark Laita
Los Angles based photographer Mark Laita has photographed more than 100 of the world’s most dangerous serpents for his Serpentine series. These photographs ranges from the Coral Snake and the Honduran Milk Snake to the Albino Western Diamondback Rattlesnake and the Black Pakistan Cobra.
Snake’s mythology, its dangerous aura and elegant grace has always been captivating for the man. Mark Laita says about his serpent series “ The sensual attractiveness of snakes, which coexists with their threatening , unpredictable and mysterious nature is truly unique. This Dichotomy, In which there beauty seems to be heightened by their danger, and vice versa, is what I find so fascinating. Add To these contradictions the rich symbolism of serpents and you have a wonderfully compelling subject”
