The Car Poolers in Mexico
Mexican Photographer Alejandro Cartagena studies many social issues through his documentary like photography projects. In this series which he has called “Car poolers ” he has examined Workers with Camera shots from above which try to capture the essence of their difficult lives.
In these photographs Cartagena shows how a labour worker is surrounded by their job specific tools and supplies, generating a curiosity about their history, where they are going and their areas of expertise
These images are unusual but they throw some light on overgrowth and transportation issues in Mexico. Cartagena says, “Even though these workers are not conscious of the ecological impact they have by travelling this way, which is basically to save money and time, they are a silent contributor to the preservation of our cities and planet.”
