The perfect crazy party house, Roxy Club Sanvassi Brazil
It’s very rare that the original architect of a building is given a chance to renovate it as well. Brazilian architect Fred Mafra was given one such opportunity which he pulled off beautifully, being a pro when it comes to designing night clubs. The night club Josefine/Roxy has been at the centre of the night life of Sanvassi, Belo Horizonte, Which is one of the largest cities of Minas Gerais in south eastern Brazil.
The club covers a total area of 955 m², having two dance floors, three bars and four VIP areas which can be combined into one bigger VIP lounge according to the requirement of the event. The club also has two lounges and smoking areas adorned with a retractable roof.
Mafra redid the interior by using dominating hexagon and triangular forms accompanied with a color palette of the brightest, liveliest colors of all. These angular forms have been used to create a honey combed ceiling and black and white geometric floors. Addition of vinyl padding on seating and walls and innovative lighting of the spaces with creative LEDs has given the interior a perfect effect of a crazy party house which is guaranteed to make you forget about the world you came from and all you want to do is lose yourself and enjoy.
Roxy Club is open on Wednesdays and Fridays when the DJs play techno and e-music to a straight crowd. Josefine Club is open on Thursdays and Saturdays when the DJs play tribal and pop music to gay/hipster crowd.
