Creativity on adrenalin – Beaucoupzero’s Art
“Beaucoupzero” is an online art shop showcasing illustrations, clay toys and hand bags. Beaucoupzero’s is owned by two very skilled artist, Matei Apostolescu an illustrator and graphic designer and Silvana Bratu who is a costume designer and photographer. Matei who also goes by the name of ‘013a’ is a Bucharest based free-lance illustrator. Creating the most inventive pieces of art Matei is an avant-garde in illustration. Utilizing almost all kinds of tools ranging from manual tool like rotring pencils, markers, spray paint to techno ones such as Wacom tablet, Photoshop and Illustrator. His expression ranges over a number of mediums: photography, illustration, drawing, manipulation, clay modeling and some other.
Matei’s approach towards his craft is quite simple yet complicated. He believes in keeping things fun and free style but while doing so he also adds a great deal of detail into his subject and fill them up with intricate swirling shapes. Thus upon the first glance his works shows a lot of chaos and randomness which unfolds in a tranquil visual experience on a closer inspection. His work has been described as ‘incredibly dense, exploding with intricate detail and filled with swirling, wildly complex shapes that compete for attention.’
Silvana the other half of Beaucoupzero is a naturally gifted woman who trained her natural panache of working with materials, shapes and colors on film sets. Her skill in inventive visual style as a costume and set designer, still photographer, stylist, make-up and special effects artist are all credited for by her experience on sets.
A bold problem solver with an eye for authentic talent, Sylvan also worked as a curator for a number of galleries and exhibitions in Bucharest.
