Ran Hwang creates Murals with thousands of beads, pins and Buttons

It’s quite hard to explain this remarkable work by Ran Hwang. Using thousands of different components including pins, buttons and beads he has created huge Murals that stand apart and show their radiating beauty to everyone. These murals are part sculptures, with some elements of painting and tapestry. Hwang’s work requires tremendous patience and details, she compares her work to the process of a monk achieving zen.  Hwang Says:  ”I create large icons such as a Buddha or a traditional vase, using materials from the fashion industry. The process of building large installations are time consuming and repetitive and it requires manual effort which provides a form of self-meditation. I hammer thousands of pins into a wall like a monk who, facing the wall, practices Zen.”
